Susi Susanti

 Let me be honest, i’m not really good at sport. No, i’m not good at sport, totally. But there’s one specific sport that i genuinely enjoy, badminton. I’ve been playing badminton since i was kids, just for fun tho, to make sure i work my muscles and bones enough and didn’t cause any stupid reason to make me sick. I’m not really fond of badminton, but i know several athletes that achieve medals in olympic for Indonesia such as Ginting, Jonathan, and Susi Susanti. My blog today will discuss and talk about Susi Susanti.

Lucia Fransisca Susi Susanti, or the person we know as Susi Susanti, is one of the best female badminton player in Indonesia. Susi was born in Tasikmalaya, 11 February, 1971. Susi has been playing badminton since primary school and started her badminton career in her uncle’s club. To pursue her dream, she then attend an athletic dorm in Jakarta on 1985.

She worked very hard and practiced for 6 days straight from Monday to Saturday. The regulation there is very strict, such as curfew, eating rules, and even dress code. Susi was forbidden to wear heels to prevent her from foot injuries. Not like others, Susi prefer to spent her weekend to rest and sleep.

Susi started her career on 1989, playing in Indonesia Open and won right away. She then mastered female badminton competition with winning All England 4 times (1990, 1991, 1993, 1994). Her peak comes on 1992 when she achieve gold medals in olimpyc in Barcelona. At the same time, her boyfriend, Alan, also got gold medals. They were known as Olympic Bride.

Susi then achieve more medals throughout her career until she retired on 1996, right after she married Alan. Susi now is a mom of three children. They live in a cozy house in Gading Kirana, West Jakarta.

Knowing My Self

 The sun shines bright as usual as it does everyday, the only difference is i, fakhira, have to describe my self on my own blog. So basically, who is this “fakhira”?  Fakhira is what most people call me, but i write Siti Fakhira Mumtaza whenever i submit an assignment since it’s my full name. I was born in Surabaya, 5 January 2008, in the morning pricely at 6 a.m. My name it self means ‘a special girl who makes her parents proud’. What a good name, huh?
